I bought it mainly to have an I2S port and be able to transfer signal to my external DAC, I test it with a macmini and Android ,it was detected without issues MQA I don't have Tidal or any music file on hand as MQA. DSD worked fine, used audirvana to play at different sample rates I will later test it with my other DAP's.
The SMSL D300 is an affordable, high-quality DAC. However, it had some minor issues with USB, so I have been using it exclusively for Coaxial from DAP. When this unit appeared on the market, I purchased it immediately.
I had hoped that the D300 would have an I2S input, but it does not. Therefore, I connected the D300 to the Optical192k so that I could listen to Amazon Music. The smooth, clear, and deep sound was refined.
Now, when I compare it with DAP+Coaxial without this device, DAP has more depth.
It is currently intended for individuals who are interested in digital output.
The device supports USB as input and not only optical and coaxial but also HDMI as output.
Nonetheless, the device lacks any formal functions, and it would be beneficial to incorporate software alterations without any significant delay.
I have been using the Topping D10 as my DDC, but I am waiting for a dedicated DDC model since it experiences operational stability issues and an unnecessary DAC section. Another benefit of this model is its XU316 and a type-c USB. Moreover, it is remarkably robust and dependable.
